A common misconception is that home
inspections are only for home buyers. However, a
home inspection can be a valuable asset to the home
seller. With the right information, you can
eliminate suprises and reduce negotiations. Aside
from typical cosmetic issues, here are just a few
helpful hints when selling your house:
- Have the HVAC system cleaned and
serviced before the house is put on the market.
Make sure any/all inspectors
see a clean system.
- Look at any wood or wood
byproduct siding and/or trim at the exterior of the
house.
If any of this wood product
is damaged/rotted, replace or repair and paint these
areas.
- Clean out appliances, such as the
dishwasher, oven, microwave, disposal, etc.
- Remove any obstructions blocking
access to attics, crawl spaces, etc.
